EASTON, Pa. - The Lafayette men's fencing team traveled to Johns Hopkins University on Sunday afternoon, winning three of its five matches. The Leopards defeated Virginia 21-6, Maryland 14-13 and William & Mary 17-10.

Freshman epee David Jennings led the way for the Leopards winning eight of his 12 bouts, while senior sabre Darrell Washington went 7-3 on the afternoon. Classmate Paul Dobrowsky and junior Eric Luby both went 8-7 in the sabre.

Sophomore foil Phillip Manna was 8-7 on the day, and senior epee Andre Rafizadeh won six of his nine bouts. Fellow epee, sophomore Daniel Robitzski was 6-6 on the afternoon. Jennings, Rafizadeh and Robitzski combined to go 9-0 in the victory over Maryland.

The women's meet against Brandeis, NJIT, and FDU scheduled for Feb. 9 was cancelled due to inclement weather affecting travel conditions. Next up for the men's fencing team is a trip to Drew University on Feb. 17.
