Philip Parham Lauded as PL Rookie of the Week

Oct. 20, 2014

EASTON, Pa. - Freshman cornerback Phillip Parham (Lincoln Park, Mich./Cass Technical) is the Patriot League football Rookie of the Week for the week ending Oct. 18.

Parham had a 35-yard interception return for a touchdown and also tallied six tackles in Lafayette's 24-14 loss at No. 24/25 Harvard on Saturday. His interception return put the Leopards on the board in the third quarter, and was the first pick six against the Crimson since 2011. Parham also broke up two passes in the game.

For the season, Parham has played in all seven games and moved into the starting role for the last two contests. He is tied for the team lead in interceptions with two and leads the team with seven pass breakups.

Lafayette gets into the meat of Patriot League play this weekend, hosting Holy Cross at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday as part of Homecoming Weekend. Prior to the game, Lafayette will honor the senior members of the football program.
