PHILADELPHIA - The Lafayette College fencing team competed in the Temple Open this weekend. Allison Reich placed 29th in the women's epee on Saturday and Alexander Gorloff finished 18th in the men's saber event on Sunday.
On the women's side, Haley Mariello finished 52nd, and Costanza Davis finished in 55th in the epee event on Saturday. Julia Sheng lead the way in the Foil event for the Leopards finishing in 30th. In the final women's event, the saber, Rachel Barron finished in 63rd and Dania Moctezuma finished 71st.
For the men, Lafayette had four compete in the epee event on Sunday. David Jennings finished 24th, Daniel Robitzki finished in 36th, Jacob Mickey came in 43rd, and Conrad Stoerker finished in 76th.
In the foil event, Phil Manna finished in 34th, Timothy Gaziano finished in 46th, and Joshua Kwak came in 59th for the Leopards.
The Saber event would be the last of the open. Lafayette had Alexander Gorloff place 18th, Jake Burns finished 61st, Brent Staples came in 75th, and Zachary Sohn finished in 88th to round out the day for the Maroon and White.
The fencing team is back in action on Sunday, Nov 9th, for the Vassar Invitational in Poughkeepsie, N.Y.
