Leopard Freshman Earns Second-Team All-League

WEST POINT, N.Y. - Lafayette freshman Jared Mactas earned second-team All-Patriot League honors by tying for eighth-place finish at the 2014 Patriot League men's golf championship, a 54-hole event hosted by Army at the 6,142-yard, par-70 West Point Golf Course. Mactas helped lead Lafayette to an eighth-place finish, firing an 11-over total of 221 (73-73-75).

Loyola captured the team title by 10 strokes over host Army. Down by one stroke entering the final round, Army freshman Peter Kim ran away with the individual title by shooting a 70 on Sunday to finish at 1-under 209 for the tournament to earn both the Most Outstanding Golfer and Most Outstanding Rookie award.

Contributing to Lafayette's team total of 926 were the 221 by Mactas, a 232 by Kirk Massie (T25; 78-75-79), a 235 by Robert Dyer (T32; 82-75-78), a 239 by Phil Rosengarden (T38; 83-80-76), a 248 by Mike Zausmer (45th; 82-83-83) and a 251 by Garrett Sweeney (46th; 84-82-85).
