Easton, Pa. - Lafayette volleyball won a thrilling five set match over visiting St. Francis Brooklyn, 3-2, on Wednesday night. The Leopards improved to 2-6 and were led by Elizabeth Walsh's 15 kills.

Sophomore Jet Manzi had eight kills, whileeniors Danielle Towslee and Katy Rooney each chipped in six kills. Kelly Flynn and Brianne Giangiobbe contributed five kills in the win. Lauren Pisauro had a match-high 26 digs for the Leopards, and Tori Smith handed out a match-best 32 assists and came up with 12 digs. Katie Kidder had a team-high five aces.

The Terriers jumped out to an early 10-6 advantage, but the Leopards fought back to tie the game at 12 on a pair of kills and an ace from Manzi. With the score tied, Lafayette used a 13-7 run, highlighted two kills from Flynn and service aces from Kidder and Smith, to take the opening set, 25-19.

In the second game, Lafayette opened up a 13-6 lead on blocks from Rooney and Flynn and a pair of aces from Kidder. The Leopards held off a late charge from St. Francis as kills from Towslee and Smith gave the Leopards a 25-20 win in set two.

St. Francis stormed back in the third and fourth set, taking the third set 25-17 and the fourth set 25-16, to set up a decisive fifth set.

The Leopards and Terriers went back and forth in the final set, as the team switched sides with Lafayette leading 8-7. The Leopards took a 12-9 lead on a kill from Giangiobbe, an ace from Flynn and a block from Towslee and Rooney. After St. Francis pulled within a point, the Leopards finished the Terriers with a kill from Rooney and Kidder's fifth ace of the evening.

Lafayette hosts the annual Crosstown Tournament on Friday and Saturday. The Leopards with take on Delaware State at 4:30 p.m. Friday, followed by Marist at 7 p.m. On Saturday morning Lafayette hosts Saint Peter's in the final match of the Tournament.
