Lafayette sophomore Jared Mactas led the Leopards to an 8th-place finish at the Rutgers Invitational as Lafayette improved its team score by eight strokes in each of the tounament's three rounds to finish at 24-over (300-292-284--876). Mactas finished fourth overall at four-under 209 (71-69-69) on the par-71 Rutgers University Golf Course.

Wofford won the team title at seven-over 859, edging host Rutgers by one stroke and third-place Fairfield by three strokes. Fairfield's Steve Burak earned medalist honors by one stroke, finishing at seven-under 206.

Lafayette's other team scores included Sam Aronoff (T18th; 77-72-69--218), co-captain Robert Dyer (T31st; 76-75-72--223), Patrick Luther (T46th; 76-76-74--226) and Travis Ricca (T68th; 79-76-76--231).

The Leopards next compete in the prestigious Tuxedo Autumn Invitational, a three-day event that starts this Thursday.
