Lafayette sophomore Jared Mactas continued his hot play, finishing second overall at the prestigious Tuxedo Autumn Invitational hosted by Columbia at The Tuxedo Club in Tuxedo Park, N.Y. Mactas (71-76-72--219) finished at six-over 219, just one stroke behind Columbia's Brandon Jowers after entering the final round trailing by five and shooting a one-over 72.
Mactas led the Leopards, which had the team lead after the first round, to a fifth place finish in the team standings. Host Columbia took the team title with a score of 905, just 21 strokes ahead of Lafayette.
Lafayette's other team scores included Mike Zausmer (T24th; 74-80-81--235), Art Griffin (T33rd; 76-87-76--239), Travis Ricca (35th; 82-81-77--240) and James Frahm (T49th; 92-80-86--258).
The Leopards next compete in the Binghamton Fall Invitational, a three-day event that starts Saturday at The Links at Hiawatha Landing in Appalachin, N.Y.
