Lafayette's golf team moved up three spots in the final round of the 2014 Colgate Invitational to finish 8th overall in the 14-team event. The Leopards had the third-best team score of 299 in Sunday's third and final round.
Jared Mactas led Lafayette by finishing in a tie for 15th overall, firing a even-par 72 in the final round on the 6,915-yard Seven Oaks Golf Club course. Mactas carded rounds of 76 and 78 in the first two rounds.
The Patriot League was well represented at the event as Army took first place, edging host Colgate by 12 strokes. Bucknell tied for fourth place and Lehigh tied for sixth place.
Lafayette's other team scores included Mike Zausmer (T33; 78-77-79--234), Sam Aronoff (T33; 82-79-73--234), Patrick Luther (T48; 80-81-78--239) and Art Griffin (T60; 83-83-76--242).
The Leopards will compete in the Bucknell Fall Invitational next weekend.
