EASTON, Pa. -- A large, vocal crowd was on hand at Kirby Sports Center for the inaugural Warrior Rivalry between Lafayette and Lehigh Wednesday night. The event, which was organized by Brianne Giangiobbe to honor the memory of Brian Keller '16 and the Wounded Warrior Project, began with a tribute to Keller on the video board, and the team also presented a gift to Keller's family prior to the match.

"It was just a great team effort putting everything together," Giangiobbe said. "It was great for the Keller's to see how loved their son was and how great of a memory we're all going to have of him. It wasn't hard to get people to come because he was just so loved on campus."

All proceeds raised will go towards the Wounded Warrior Project, an organization supported by Keller prior to his passing over the summer.

Once the match got underway, the visiting Mountain Hawks were able to avenge their defeat to the Leopards in September, as Lehigh pulled away for a 3-0 victory. Set scores were 25-19, 25-19, 25-10.

Katherine Stevens finished with eight kills and a .538 attack percentage in a strong performance offensively, while Lauren Pisauro (19 digs) and Tori Smith (10 digs) led the defense, but Lafayette was unable to slow down Lehigh's Leah Turner. The senior outside hitter entered the night second in the Patriot League in kills per set, and she had a match-high 18 kills tonight.

The Leopards held their only leads early in the second set. That was the closest frame of the match, as a 3-0 run capped by a kill from Giangiobbe reduced the Mountain Hawks advantage down to 17-15 and forced a timeout from the visitors. Lehigh, though, won four of the next five points after that timeout and went on to close out the set.

"The first time we played them was certainly a much better showing," head coach Terri Dadio Campbell said. "Tonight, we struggled a little bit with serve-receive to start, and we really had trouble making solid connections offensively throughout the match. That made it a long night for us."

Lafayette (10-10, 2-7 PL) dropped its sixth-straight contest, while the Mountain Hawks (14-10, 6-3 PL) have won three of their last four matches.

The Leopards return to action with a 7 p.m. tilt at Loyola Friday night. The Maroon and White secured a 3-0 sweep when the teams met in Easton on Sept. 26.
