Aug. 14, 2015

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - Former Lafayette standouts David Robinson '98 and Megan Smith '97 were each chosen to the Patriot League Cross Country 25th Anniversary Teams, the league office announced Friday afternoon.

Robinson is the only Lafayette male to earn All-Patriot League recognition on three separate occasions. He received the distinction in his final three seasons, finishing as the conference runner-up in 1995 and 1997. Robinson's senior year performance helped the Leopards place third in the Patriot League that season, a mark which is tied for the best in program history.

Smith was also a three-time All-Patriot League honoree, placing in the top 10 at the conference championship meets in 1993, 1994 and 1996. Her seventh-place effort in 1993 helped Lafayette edge out Lehigh for its only Patriot League Championship in women's cross country. Smith finished second during the 1996 meet, leading the Leopards to a third place ranking in the team standings. She was additionally a two-time Patriot League Academic Honor Roll member.

The Patriot League is releasing 25th Anniversary Teams throughout the month of August for each sport that has been sponsored by the League since it became an all-sport conference beginning in the 1990-91 season.
