Lafayette sophomore Art Griffin finished at 6-over and in a tie for seventh place, leading Lafayette to a fifth-place finish at the Tuxedo Autumn Invitational hosted by Columbia at The Tuxedo Club in Tuxedo Park, N.Y. Griffin recorded rounds of 75, 74 and 70 on the par-71 course.
Drexel and Columbia tied atop the team leaderboard, finishing at 17-over 869, while Bucknell took third at 46-over, St. Thomas Aquinas at 47-over and the Leopards at 49-over 901.
Monmouth's Noah Firestone won the individual title by two strokes over Columbia's Harrison Shih. Firestone finished at 2-under for the tournament.
In addition to Griffin, Lafayette's Chad Bell tied for 12th place at 9-over (74-71-77--222), while James Frahm (T14; 74-74-75--223), John Warden (T45; 81-77-81--239) and Patrick Luther (T55; 81-85-79--245) rounded out the Leopards' team scores.
The Leopards next compete Oct. 3-5 in the Binghamton Fall Invitational at The Links at Hiawatha Landing in Apalachin, N.Y.
