EASTON, Pa. - The Lafayette men's and women's tennis teams opened up the 2016 spring season with a pair of defeats at the hands of Saint Francis (Pa.) on Saturday afternoon at Northwood Racquet Club.

"Overall, I was proud of our athletes for competing, as we were in almost all of the matches," interim head coach Ralph Van Ormer said. "With limited practice time, we showed good effort and I believe we will continue to get better throughout the season."

Chris Kim and Andrew Reed pulled out the lone win in actual matches played on either side in their number-three doubles match, defeating Robin van der Heijdan and Rodrigo Tico by a 6-3 score. Haley Matthes won her number-six singles slot by default, while Megan Reiling and Madison Olexson also won the third-doubles match without an opponent.

Below are the full results from both matches on Saturday. The Leopards return to the court on Friday, traveling to Media, Pa. to battle Saint Joseph's at the Springton Indoor Tennis Club at 7::30 p.m.
