WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Lafayette College men's soccer team had a late site change on Saturday afternoon as it drew a 1-1 tie with American from George Washington University.
With weather conditions forcing the game to be pushed to the neutral site and back an hour, Lafayette (5-7-4, 1-4-3 PL) took a 1-0 deficit into the half as the Eagles (4-7-5, 3-2-3, PL) scored in the 36
th minute.
Early in the second half, junior
Adam Bramson hit the equalizer as he connected with sophomore
Andrew Venezia for Bramson's second career goal in the 57
th minute.
The 1-1 tally would last for the remainder of regulation and carry through the overtime periods.
Freshman goalkeeper
Alex Sutton made six big saves on the afternoon and Lafayette won the battle of corners, taking 14 in the contest to American's six.
Senior
Joe DeStefano kept his consecutive minutes-played streak alive on Saturday as the captain played all 110 minutes to bring his total to 1,530 in 2018.
The Leopards will play their regular season finale at Oaks Stadium on Nov. 3, hosting Loyola on Senior Day with kickoff set for 7 p.m.
