Volleyball Runs the Table In Lafayette Invite

Three Leopards named to all-tournament team with a perfect record

EASTON, Pa. – The Lafayette College volleyball team won a pair of Lafayette Invitational matches on Saturday, defeating Hartford, 3-1, and Fairleigh Dickinson, 3-0. The perfect record in the event marked the first time Lafayette went undefeated since 2015 when it posted three-consecutive Invitationals with 3-0 records.

The Leopards (5-7) have now won nine out of their last 11 sets as they enter Patriot League play.

In the first match, freshman Grace Tulevech lead the Maroon and White with a double-double, 21 kills and 11 digs with two blocks. Classmate Leanna Deegan had a career-high 13 kills hitting .345 over Hartford (7-4).

Sophomore Jenna Bailey had a career-high 43 assists to go along with 11 digs. Junior Sonia Musso tallied eight kills off the bench, hitting .500 in the victory.

In the afternoon bout, Tulevech posted another double-double with 18 kills and 11 digs, hitting .333. Musso recorded 10 kills and Bailey had 31 assists over Fairleigh Dickinson (2-10).

The match included an 11-0 run by the Leopards in the second set with sophomore Audrey Mangum on the serve.

For their stellar performances in the event, Tulevech was named the Invitational's MVP while Bailey and freshman Kelly Austin were members of the all-tournament team.

The Leopards move to Patriot League action as they will host defending champion American on Friday at 7 p.m. at Kirby Sports Center.
