BALITMORE, Md. – The Lafayette College volleyball team dropped their Saturday afternoon match to Loyola in three straight sets, 25-18, 25-22 and 25-19.
The Leopards were led by sophomore

Leanna Deegan with 6 and freshman
Ellie Carrera-Justiz and sophomore

Lafayette jumped out to an early lead the first set and held onto the lead for most of the set but it would be a series of kills by the Greyhounds that would push them past the Leopards to take the 16-15 lead and the eventual 25-18 set victory.
Set two saw more of a back and forth battle. Loyola jumped out to take an early 2-1 lead and from there, the set would be tied 13 times. Tied at 22-22, it would be a series of Loyola kills that would give them the 25-22 set two victory.
The third set saw the score tied nine times before the Greyhounds took the 18-17 lead to eventually secure the 25-19 set victory and the match.
With the loss, the Maroon and White drop to 11-8 overall and 0-3 in Patriot League play.
Next up, the Leopards will return home for a pair of conference matchups, welcoming Holy Cross on Friday and Colgate on Saturday.
