ALLEGHANY, N.Y. - The Lafayette women's lacrosse team fell behind in the opening minute of the 2019 season at St. Bonaventure, but came back to score 18 unanswered to roll to its first victory by an 18-1 final.
Senior
Hannah Davey equaled the score at 26:44 for the Leopards' (1-0) first goal of the season, part of her four-goal afternoon. Also netting four was senior
Jane Kirby who notched a hat trick in the opening half with an assist, while sophomore
Anna Stein tallied three goals in the victory.
The Leopards pitched a second-half shutout as sophomore
Quinn Lacy allowed just the one goal in net and made 11 saves in 48 minutes played. Junior
Taylor Danson came in to close things out between the pipes with a pair of saves on her two shots faced.

Bella Alampi found the net twice in the second half while senior
Mairead Janzer, juniors
Ashley Ender and
Katie McDonald, and sophomore
Lizzie O'Brien each tacked on one score.
Freshman
Caroline Curnal notched her first career goal and assist with the feed to O'Brien for the Leopards' final goal of the game at 2:29 in the second.
The Leopards controlled the game from every category, winning draws (10-8), ground balls (22-15) and forcing 18 turnovers while committing just 15. Lafayette went 12-for-16 on its clear attempts and converted 7-of-13 from the eight-meter spot.
The Maroon and White opens its home schedule on Feb. 19, taking on Iona at Fisher Stadium with the opening draw set for 6 p.m.
