BETHLEHEM, Pa.  – Junior
Trey Durrah hit his third home run in three games at Lehigh to help the Lafayette baseball team earn a series win and a Sunday split against its rival at Legacy Park on Sunday by 14-2 and 16-9 finals.

Lafayette (6-15, 3-1 PL) opened the scoring in the second inning of game one and never looked back, as Durrah stayed dialed in. Senior
Richard Villa opened the inning with a double and Durrah drove him home with a two-strike single to center field.

Durrah's big weekend continued in the third inning, hitting a three-run home run to right center as part of an eight-run outburst. Sophomore

Dan Leckie and Villa each drove in runs as Lafayette plated eight on six hits in the inning.

Lehigh (9-12, 1-3 PL) was able to scrape across a run in the bottom half and the fourth, but junior starting pitcher
Brett Kreyer was dominant with a career-high nine strikeouts and going the distance for his second career complete game.

Durrah was 3-for-3 in the game with a home run and five RBIs while freshman
Justin Johnson went 3-for-4 and scored three runs. Leckie was 2-for-3 with three runs and two RBIs and Villa and Stern each went 2-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs.

In the series finale, the Leopards struck first for the fourth-consecutive game as Johnson singled to open the game, stole second and third, and came home to score on a Lehigh error.

The mountain Hawks answered with two in the bottom of the first and six in the second to jump in front. Lafayette did not shy away, plating four in the fourth inning when Leckie opened the inning by reaching on an error, Rouse singled, Durrah was hit by a pitch and freshman
Dylan Minghini drove home the first run on a sacrifice fly.

Sophomore
Michael Landry followed it up with a double and Stern drove him home with another double before the inning ended. Stern went 3-for-5 in game two with a pair of RBI doubles and Rouse was 2-for-4 with a two runs.

Durrah's big weekend was not over yet, hitting a towering, two-run home run to left field to make it 12-9 in the seventh.

Durrah had 15 RBIs in the final three games of the four-game set with a grand slam, three-run homer and two-run blast.
Â
Lehigh added on in the seventh via the long ball and Johnson led off the eighth with a double to threaten, but was left stranded.

This is the first Lafayette series win over Lehigh since the 2009 season. The Leopards return to action on Tuesday, playing the opener of the Liberty Bell Classic at St. Joseph's on Tuesday with first pitch scheduled for 3 p.m.
