EASTON, Pa. – The Lafayette men's lacrosse program held its Spring Alumni Day on Saturday afternoon, welcoming back more than 50 former Leopards to Fisher Stadium, but the Maroon and White couldn't find an answer for Holy Cross between the lines, falling by a 16-4 score.
The Crusaders scored early and often to put the game away quickly, leading 6-1 after the opening quarter and 9-2 at halftime. The Leopard defense dug in a bit in the second half, giving up three in the third and four in the fourth, but the offense couldn't score more than once in any of the four frames to close the book on a 16-4 defeat.
The win improves Holy Cross to 5-5 this season and 2-3 in the Patriot League, while Lafayette falls to 4-8 on the year and 0-5 in conference action.

Bryan Hess was the most productive of the Leopards offensively with two goals and an assist on the afternoon. Classmate

Robbie Garavente were the other goal-scorers with one apiece.
All four goalies made an appearance for Lafayette, but freshman
Ryan Ness was saddled with the loss, giving up six and making four saves in his first quarter of action. Sophomore
Jake Floyd-Jones also made four saves and played the most of the four, giving up seven goals in 33:13 of play. Senior
Jonathan Anastos added two saves in 10:29 of action and junior
Wes Moshier allowed a goal without a stop in 1:18 in the cage.
Holy Cross had four different players with two-goal days, led by Connor Waldron and Sean Mullaney with two goals and two assists for four points each. Jonathan Tesoro picked up his fifth win between the pipes with two saves and three goals allowed in 45 minutes.
Shots finished at 45-24 in favor of the visitors and Holy Cross led in ground balls, 38-23. The Crusaders won 22 of the 24 faceoffs at the X and forced Lafayette into 15 turnovers, committing just 10 of their own.
Lafayette looks to get back on track when it returns to Fisher Stadium next weekend, hosting Bucknell on April 13 at 3:30 p.m.
