BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Patriot League announced the conference's postseason awards Monday afternoon with senior
Leanna Deegan capturing Player of the Year honors while head coach
Ryan Adams was named Coach of the Year, both firsts in program history.

Additionally, Deegan earned All-Patriot League First-Team laurels while senior
Madi Wahrmund and sophomore
Katie Weston were named to the second team.

In just his third year with the program, Adams led the Leopards to their most Patriot League wins ever and highest finish in the Patriot League standings in program history. Lafayette rattled off a five-match win streak at the start of conference play that included the program's first win over American in the five-set era.

Lafayette completed season sweeps of all but three conference opponents on the year and closed the regular season on a three-match win streak.

Deegan has led the nation in kills per set since Sept. 26 at 5.90 a frame, eclipsing the 1,000 career kills mark in the Sept. 25 win at Lehigh. She had a career-high 36-kill outing against Sacred Heart and has 16 20-kill performances this season. She has hit at a .233 clip while totaling 180 digs, 24 blocks and 17 service aces.

Wahrmund has come on strong towards the back half of the season and ranks inside the top-10 in the Patriot League in blocks per set. She has put together 156 kills on the season with over five in all but two contests. She's hit .293 with 74 blocks on the season.

Weston has been the anchor to the Lafayette defense all season long, ranking third in the conference in digs per set with 4.71 a frame. She has had double-digit digs in all but three matches this season and had a career-high 40 in the five-set win at Loyola. She's also tied for first in the Patriot League with 34 service aces.

Lafayette earned its highest seeding ever in this week's Patriot League Tournament and will take on the highest remaining seed from the quarterfinal matchups Saturday at 7 p.m. with the championship set for Sunday at 4 p.m. Both the semifinal and championship match will take place in Hamilton, New York on the campus of top-seeded Colgate.
