EASTON, Pa. – The Lafayette College women's basketball team earned its first win of the season, 49-44, over Siena College in the two sides' first-ever meeting.Â

The Leopards were led by junior
Jessica Booth who notched a career-high 19 points. Senior
Makaila Wilson and sophomore
Makayla Andrews also recorded double-digit points with 10 and 13, respectively. Wilson's 13 points are a season-high for the senior.

Naomi Ganpo and Wilson each recorded a team-leading nine rebounds while senior
Nicole Johnson notched a team-high two assists.

Lafayette (1-3, 0-0 PL) jumped out to a 5-0 lead before Siena (0-3, 0-0 MAAC) got on the board. The Saints took the lead, 8-7, with two minutes left in the first quarter but a layup by Andrews was enough to give the Leopards the 9-8 lead at the end of the first 10 minutes of action.Â

Siena opened up the second quarter with a 6-0 run bringing the score to 14-9 at the media timeout. The Saints added a shot from beyond the arc to make it 17-9 before Booth broke the run with a layup to make it 17-11 in favor of Siena. The visitors added a free throw with 13 seconds left in the half to lead 18-11 at the intermission. Â

With the Saints up 23-15, Booth put in back-to-back layups to pull the Leopards within four. Siena added an extra shot to make it 24-19. Sophomore
Ashley Evans put in a jumper to pull Lafayette back within a bucket before freshman
Abby Antognoli and Wilson tied up the game at 24.

The Leopards held the lead and headed into the final 10 minutes of action up by two, 32-30.

Siena tied up the game, 32-32, less than a minute into the fourth quarter before back-to-back baskets by Wilson and Ganpo put the Leopards back in front by four. The Saints jumped back out in front, 39-36, with 5:49 left before the Leopards exploded for an 8-0 run to retake the lead, 44-39.

The Saints attempted to pull off the comeback win, pulling the score within three with two seconds left on the clock. But Andrews drew a foul and made both of her extra shots to secure the 49-44 win for the Maroon and White.Â

Siena's Margo Peterson led the Saints in scoring with 16 while two others, Rayshel Brown and Valencia Fontenelle-Posson recorded nine.Â

Lafayette travels to Philadelphia on Tuesday for a 6 p.m. tip with La Salle.Â
