EASTON, Pa. – The Lafayette College volleyball team took down Bucknell in straight sets (26-24, 25-18, 25-11) Sunday afternoon inside 
Kirby Sports Center to complete a perfect weekend after sweeping Lehigh Saturday.
 
Sophomore 
Alyssa Vitale tallied a double-double with 32 assists and 11 digs while freshman 
Abby Nieporte had 12 kills and two blocks in her second-straight start.
 
The Leopards found themselves down at the first media timeout, 15-13 before junior 
Grace Steurer went to the service line to spark 4-0 run to take the lead, 18-17.
 
The Bison quickly responded with a 4-0 run of their own to take a 21-18 advantage. Lafayette rallied to score the frame's final three points and senior 
Madi Wahrmund had the finisher.
 
Wahrmund recorded eight kills, hitting .467 with three blocks.
 
Lafayette quickly took control in the second set with an early 5-0 run to make it 8-4. The Bison countered a few points later to get back into the set with a 3-0 run to make it 11-8. The Leopards separated themselves, hitting .441 in the second set and holding the Bison to just a .184 clip.
 
The third set was all Lafayette that started with a 7-0 run to make it 13-4 with Wahrmund at the service line. Bucknell managed a 3-0 run but Lafayette quickly put an end to that with a 7-0 run to make it 20-7. Sophomore 
Katie Weston had an ace to finish off the sweep.
 
Weston had eight digs and two aces while freshman 
Phoebe Glass hit .304 with 10 kills off the bench. Steurer matched her career high with four aces and nine digs.  
 
Just one match remains on the regular-season schedule before the Patriot League tournament, as the Leopards host Navy Saturday, Nov. 13 at 5 p.m. inside 
Kirby Sports Center for Senior Day.
