ALLENTOWN, Pa. -- Lafayette College women's tennis fell in a non-conference clash against Delaware State, 5-2, on Sunday afternoon.
The Leopards had success early in their singles matches, taking the first set in five of the six rubbers. However, the 10-point third set tiebreakers proved to be the difference, as they dropped all three of those deciders to the Hornets. Lafayette also dropped two of its three doubles sets as Delaware State took the doubles point.
Senior
Samantha Snyder won both of her ties at first singles and first doubles -- earning a 6-2, 7-6 straight sets win in the former and partnering with fellow senior
Cecelia Lesnick for a 6-3 win in the latter. Sophomore
Jessica Siegel also earned a straight sets singles win, 6-2, 7-6, to tally the Leopards' other point in the match.
Lafayette will start Patriot League play at noon Saturday on the road against Bucknell.
