Hamm Selected to Stats Perform FCS Preseason All-America Team

Senior DL is a three-time All-Patriot League selection

EASTON, Pa. – Senior DL Malik Hamm has been named to the Stats Perform FCS Preseason All-America Team announced Monday afternoon. Hamm, who is a three-time All-Patriot League selection and was the Patriot League Defensive Player of the Year in 2019, was selected for the Second-Team Defense, one of just two Patriot League student-athletes to receive the national recognition.

Hamm adds the honor to a long list of football credentials, including his most recent selection to the Preseason All-Patriot League Team. He is coming off a 2021 spring season in which he was named to the All-Patriot League First Team for the second time in his career while also garnering Stats Perform FCS All-America Second-Team honors.

The Baltimore, Md. native finished the spring 2021 season third on the team in tackles (19), second in tackles for loss (3.5-21) and second in sacks (1-5 for 13) while helping the Leopards' defense limit its opponents to 63.3 rushing yards per game. He made five or more tackles in every game and forced a fumble and registered a sack in the win over Lehigh in the season finale.

For the second straight season, he also secured the Hugh L. "Stoney" Jones '27 Award given annually to the team's most valuable player. Hamm was one of 38 Leopard selections to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll after achieving a 3.33 semester GPA.

Coming off a 2-1 2021 spring season, the Leopards report to training camp Aug. 6 and will open the season a month later on Sept. 4 at Air Force.
