HAMILTON, N.Y.– The Lafayette field hockey team defeated the Colgate Raiders 5-1 on Saturday afternoon.
Sophomore midfielder
Lineke Spaans gave the Leopards an early advantage at 8:48 in the first quarter. Senior
Molly McAndrew gave a long pass off the baseline to freshman
Hannah Findlay, who was able to dive for a stellar tip-in (17:28).
 McAndrew earned points of her own at 34:03, assisted by fellow classmate
Felicitas Hannes. The Cherry Hill, N.J. native continues to lead the Leopards in total points this season.
Tara Hamilton, assisted by
Catalina Rubel, added a fourth tally at 53:41.
Colgate found an answer just one minute later from Ahria Dhillon during a penalty corner.
Spaans found McAndrew at the stroke mark at 56:31 for a final score of 5-1 in favor of the Maroon and White.
Lafayette held the advantage in total shots (18-3) and penalty corners (6-3).
Lafayette's freshman goalkeeper
Raffi Fragomeni was left untested today, while her Raider counterpart, Cammy Foster, made seven saves.
The Leopards will travel to Holy Cross on Oct. 29 for the final regular-season contest.
