Â
The Tigers extended their lead with six minutes left in the half, using a 35-yard pass from Stenstrom to Iosivas that set up a one-yard scoring run by Butler. On the PAT, Hamm blocked a kick for the third game in a row.
Byron Johnson scooped it up and ran it back to the endzone to get Lafayette on the scoreboard for two points.
Â
It was the Leopards' first blocked PAT and return since Nov. 13, 2004, when Blake Costanzo returned a blocked PAT against Holy Cross. That season kicked off a run of three straight Patriot League championships for Lafayette.
Â
Lafayette (2-4) had a scoring chance late in the first half as
Tim O'Hearn got a hand on a Princeton punt. The Leopards took over at the visitors' 40-yard line, but could not punch it into the endzone before halftime.
Â
The Tigers added a 27-yard field goal five minutes into the second half for the 23-2 final.
Â
Junior
Rent Montie made his second straight start at quarterback, completing 15-of-28 for 111 yards with an interception.
Ah-Shaun Davis took over on the final drive of the game and complete all four of his attempts.
Â
Lafayette will have a break for the bye week to rest and recuperate and will next host No. 10 Holy Cross on Oct. 22 at 3:30 p.m.
