EASTON, Pa. – Lafayette women's basketball head coach Kia Damon-Olson introduced her program's four-member class of 2027 on Wednesday afternoon.
"The staff did an outstanding job identifying, recruiting and landing four talented student-athletes who will add to our program in a variety of ways", said Damon-Olson. "Teresa, Grace, Tasha and Brynn will complement our returning group of players well. We really wanted to address our future needs in ball-handling, scoring and depth in the post with this class. I'm excited to watch the development of this class as they close out their final year of high school/club basketball and can't wait to have them on campus."
Brynn Beffert comes to College Hill from Hutchinson, Minn. and Hutchinson High School where she has been a five-year starter at forward for the girls' basketball team. Beffert is a two-year captain and has scored 1,000 career points. Entering her senior season, she is averaging 19 points and 15.3 rebounds per game while shooting 66 percent from the floor.
The 6-1 forward has earned All-Wright County Conference honors on three occasions and secured All-State Honorable Mention status in 2022. Beffert boasts the second best single-game shooting percentage in girls' national high school basketball history, going 16-for-16.
Academically, Beffert ranks first in her high school class, and she is a National Honor Society member. She is the daughter of Brian and Jami Beffert, and has one older brother, Ethan.
Tasha Chudy is a forward from Saratoga Springs, N.Y. who has started on her Saratoga Springs High School varsity team since the eighth grade. Chudy reached 1,000 career points in her junior season and already holds the school's career rebounding record. She has averaged 22.1 points, 10.3 rebounds and 5.4 assists per game.
Chudy has earned Suburban Council First Team All-Star honors, Channel 13 All-Star status and a place on the 2021-22 Daily Gazette All-Area Team while also securing All-State Fifth Team honors.
The 6-2 forward is a member of the National Honor Society, is a high honor roll student and garnered the Scholar Athlete Award at Saratoga Springs where she serves as president of Math Club.
She is the daughter of Brendan and Robin Chudy, and has a sister, Madeline, and two brothers, Nicholas, who plays basketball at Muhlenberg College, and Nathaniel who played baseball at Holy Cross.
Grace Montgomery is a guard from Victoria, Australia where she attends Toorak College. Montgomery is a team captain who averages 14 points, four rebounds, three assists and two steals per game. Montgomery plays club for the Dandenong Rangers, playing on the senior team in a semi-professional league.
The 5-7 guard also competes for Toorak in track and field, indoor cricket and indoor rowing. She has won the Excellence in Citizenship Award, Long Tan Youth Leadership and Teamwork Award, and the Academic Excellence, Learning Endeavour and High Achievers award from Toorak College.
She is the daughter of James and Karen Montgomery, and has two sisters, Annabelle and Eleanor, and a brother Ewan.
Teresa Kiewiet also comes from Minnesota. The North Mankato native has played six years, starting three on the varsity level at Mankato West High School. She has 771 career points, 266 rebounds and 118 assists entering her final season. Kiewiet shoots at a 50 percent clip from the floor and 43 percent from three-point range. She also shares the school record for points in a game (39).
The 5-10 guard is a two-time team captain who has twice earned All Big 9 Conference honors while also garnering honorable mention status. Kiewiet is also a member of her high school's cross country team and participates in National Honor Society. She is a six-time Spotlight on Scholarship winner and is a member of the honor roll.
She is the daughter of Rodney and Mary Kiewiet, and has an older sister, Hailey.
