Late Heroics Power Leopards to Overtime Win Over Bucknell

Brantley scores 16 second-half points and Quinn hits the go-ahead bucket

EASTON, Pa. – CJ Fulton found a wide-open Neal Quinn underneath the basket who converted the go-ahead layup with just 2.3 seconds left to give the Lafayette College men's basketball team a 74-72 overtime victory over Bucknell inside Kirby Sports Center.

"We showed such great heart at the end of that second half to come back," said head coach Fran O'Hanlon. "Jon Brantley made some huge shots for us and credit Bucknell for coming in and giving us everything we could handle. I'm just really proud of our group's effort today."

Sophomore Jon Brantley's corner 3-pointer with just 50 seconds left in regulation gave Lafayette a 66-64 lead before junior Leo O'Boyle hit 1-of-2 free throws to make it a three-point game.

Bucknell drew a foul on a three-pointer on the next possession and sank all three to force the extra period.

It was a scoreless first two minutes of overtime before sophomore Kyle Jenkins hit 1-of-2 free throws and Fulton scored back-to-back buckets in the paint to make it 72-69.

Bucknell's Andrew Funk scored a game-high 20 points and none were bigger than his 3-pointer with 31 seconds left in overtime to tie the game.

After the Lafayette timeout, Fulton found Quinn for the easy bucket and the Leopards held on for the overtime victory to make it back-to-back wins.

Quinn led the way for the Maroon and White with 19 points and nine rebounds, his 15th-straight game in double-figures. Brantley scored all 16 of his points in the second half and Fulton had a career-high 15.

The Leopards head to the national stage, traveling to Navy for a Monday night matchup on CBS Sports Network at 7 p.m. before round one of the Rivalry Saturday afternoon at Lehigh.
