BETHLEHEM, Pa. –
Arman Ganchi, a freshman computer science major on the Lafayette men's tennis team, was named the Patriot League men's tennis Player of the Week for the period that ended on March 28, the league office announced on Tuesday afternoon.
Ganchi tallied two court one wins in singles action against Loyola's Skyler Gates (6-2, 6-3) and Holy Cross' William Kelleher (6-2, 6-3) over the weekend. The Wayne, N.J. native and teammate
Luke Ritchie earned a 7-6 (3) win on court three over Loyola's Liam Rompere and Oliver Davey.
"Arman is a hard-working player every time he steps onto the court," head coach
Ralph Van Ormer said. "It's a pleasure to coach him and to see his growth in his short time here at Lafayette."
Ganchi is the first Lafayette men's player to receive weekly honors since
William Barry in 2020. Barry was victorious in both the No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles against Niagara (3/10).
The Leopards take a break from Patriot League action this Saturday to host Wilkes University at 2 p.m.
