EASTON, Pa. -- Freshman Kaya Ciccone-Cozart has been selected as the Patriot League softball Rookie of the Week following the Leopards' four-game series against Atlantic 10 foe George Mason. 

Ciccone-Cozart hit for a .308 average and started all four games in the series, belting out four hits including a double while also driving in a run. The Hemet, California native spent time at catcher, first base and designated hitter and did not commit an error in 14 chances. In 2022, the Biology major has started all but one game, helping guide the Leopards to a 4-4 start.

Lafayette will use this week to prep for its spring break trip to Madeira Beach, Florida on March 11-15. Lafayette will play seven contests at The Spring Games, facing Purdue, LIU, Western Michigan, Siena, Merrimack and Niagara (twice).
