EASTON, Pa. – The Lafayette field hockey team opened the 2022 fall season with a 1-0 loss to Temple on Friday afternoon at Rappolt Field.
Temple's Olivia Vaccari scored the lone goal of the evening at 15:36 in the second quarter off of a penalty corner, assisted by Nineke Oerlemans. Lafayette's

Simone Hefting all put shots on goal to try to get some momentum.
The Owls were put to a stop on a close offensive advance by a defensive save from senior defender Hefting at 32:58 to keep the score 1-0.
Temple held the advantage in total shots (14-5), as well as penalty corners (9-2). Lafayette's junior goalkeeper
Emma Garvey made three saves in the defeat, while her Owl counterpart, Molly Frey, made two.
The Leopards host Bryant on Sunday at 3:30 p.m.
