EASTON Pa. - The Lafayette men's soccer team won its first Patriot League contest against Holy Cross with score of 2-0 on Saturday evening.

The Leopards opened up scoring in the 34th minute when senior
Marcos Kitromilides headed the ball past the Holy Cross goalkeeper, Josh Tubbs. The game-winner was Kitromilides' fourth goal of the season.

Lafayette led 1-0 heading into the second half. Offensively the Leopards dominated, recording 11 shots to the Crusaders' one. Junior
Hale Lombard led the attack with four shots, but could not find the back of the net.Â

Eoin Martin solidified the win for the Leopards, scoring his first career goal in the 53rd minute off of a throw-in by senior
Will Echeverria. Martin's goal put the Leopards up 2-0.

The first conference game of the year was very chippy on both ends. Holy Cross earned three yellow cards and one straight red card on Jon Klein. Lafayette earned two yellow cards, one on senior
Nick Hazel and the other on senior goalkeeper
Alex Sutton.

Sutton recorded one save, playing all 90 minutes in net. His Holy Cross counterpart Tubbs also played all 90 minutes, making two saves and allowing two goals.

The Leopards will be back in action at home on Tuesday when they host St. Peter's at 7 p.m.
