PRINCETON, N.J.– The Lafayette field hockey team knocked off the No. 7 team in the nation, Princeton, 3-2 on Sunday afternoon.
Princeton's Zoe Shephard found the first goal of the match, assisted by Beth Yeager (14:15).
Senior defender
Sydney Woolston fired a loose ball into the net to even the score at 36:17.
The Tigers converted a penalty stroke at 57:13, but the Leopards fought for one more goal to send both teams into overtime. Senior defender

Lineke Spaans and
India Ralph during a well-executed corner at 57:28.
A beautiful three-player passing sequence swiftly secured the victory for the Maroon and White (5:18). Senior forward
Felicitas Hannes got the final touch behind the goalkeeper as it was sent from
Lineke Spaans and
Molly McAndrew.
Princeton held the advantage in total shots (21-9) and penalty corners (10-3). Hefting managed two defensive saves against the Tigers in regulation play.
Lafayette's freshman goalkeeper
Raffi Fragomeni made 10 saves, while her Tiger counterpart, Robyn Thompson, made four. Fragomeni surpassed her previous season and career-high of nine saves during today's victory.
The Leopards will host Lehigh and Richmond next weekend.Â
