PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The Lafayette men's soccer team continued its non-conference win streak, defeating Drexel 2-0 on Tuesday night.
Sophomore
Lawrence Aydlett scored the first goal of the contest at 10:59. Junior
David Mizrahi and senior
Will Echeverria assisted Aydlett's second goal of the season.
The Leopards held onto their one-goal lead until the 87th minute. At 87:13,
Marcos Kitromilides launched a shot from the top of the box past the diving Drexel goalkeeper, giving the Leopards a two-goal lead.
Lafayette controlled offensive momentum for the majority of the game. The Leopards took 12 total shots with five of them being on goal. Aydlett and
Hale Lombard each recorded five shots each. Drexel took nine shots with four of them being on goal.
Goalkeeper
Alex Sutton played all 90 minutes in net and recorded four saves. His Drexel counterpart, Alessandro Capogna recorded three saves and two goals against.
The Leopards will be back in Philadelphia on Friday when they face Temple at 7 p.m.
