EASTON, Pa. - Lafayette golf has registered the signings of Hudson Pace and Winston Kelenc-Blank in the Class of 2027.
Winston Kelenc-Blank joins the Leopards from Rumson, N.J. after spending time at The Peddie School and Choate Rosemary Hall. Kelenc-Blank played on the Peddie varsity golf team, lettering in 2019, 2021 and 2022. He helped Peddie win the 2021 NJISAA Prep A with a third-place finish when he shot two-over-par. Kelenc-Blank also won the 2021 Mid-Atlantic MAPL Championship at three-over-par 75. Kelenc-Blank earned All-Mid-Atlantic Prep League Honors in 2021. In 2022, he served as the Peddie team captain on his way to MVP honors. A two-sport athlete, he also played soccer at Peddie.
Kelenc-Blank spent one year at Choate as a student and member of the varsity golf team, earning Dean's List honors in 2022.Â
Kelenc-Blank also was a member of the Saucon Valley C.C. Golf team from 2015-21 and was a junior club champion in 2018 and 2019 and a championship finalist in 2020. In 2022, he captured the Saucon Valley men's club championship, the youngest champion in the 100-year history of the event. Kelenc-Blank was the first junior American member of North Berwick G.C. in Scotland where he has been a member since 2018. Kelenc-Blank is the son of Richard J. Blank Jr., and Ana M. Blank.
Hudson Pace joins the Leopards from Richmond, Va. where he attended Collegiate School. Pace was a five-year (2019-23) varsity team member beginning in eighth grade, helping guide his squad to state championships in 2021 and 2022. In his junior campaign, Pace garnered all-state and all-league honors. Pace shot a shot three-under-par 68 in the state championship tournament to lead his team to a VISAA team aggregate score record of four-under-par. In 2022, Pace was the team's Co-MVP, averaging 36.9 strokes per nine holes en route to a team title. Â
Pace managed a top-10 finish in the 2022 VSGA Junior Stroke Play Championship, and won the MAPGA 2021 Billy Hurley Championship. He is a four-time Country Club of Virginia Junior Player of the Year. An honor roll student, Pace is the son of Nick and Liane Pace and has a younger brother, Quinn, and a younger sister, Ellis.Â
