EASTON, Pa.– The Lafayette field hockey team earned its sixth straight win, part of a streak which includes five shutouts, on Friday evening, defeating Towson 4-0 on Rappolt Field. The Leopards move to 9-4 (4-1 PL) on the season.
Junior co-captain
Lineke Spaans netted the first goal of the contest at 26:56 with a strong drive from the middle of the circle. She followed up with her second of the day at 38:44, nailing a reverse shot into the bottom right corner of the cage.
Freshman
Stella Malinowski put back a penalty stroke at 41:15 to continue the 3-0 lead through the third quarter. This goal signals her seventh tally and her second successful penalty stroke of the season.
Maddie Evans earned a spot on the 2023 scoresheet tonight with her first career goal. The 52:50 tally was a right-sided tip, assisted by her classmate,
Lea Good.
Lafayette held the advantage in total shots (25-6) and penalty corners (6-3).

Raffi Fragomeni made three saves in the shutout while her Tiger counterpart, Tessa Scheenstra, made 11. The Mountain Lakes, N.J. native claims 31 saves, 3 shutouts and a .674 save percentage on the season.
The Leopards travel to Quinnipiac on Sunday at noon.
