PHILADELPHIA, Pa.– The Lafayette field hockey team closed out the 2023 regular season with a 1-0 loss to Temple on Sunday afternoon at Howard Field. The final snapped Lafayette's eight-game win streak that began Sept. 30.
In 45 minutes, the Leopard defensive unit fought off six shots and one penalty corner to earn shutouts in the first three quarters.
Temple finally broke the seal at 51:48 with a goal by Tess Muller.
The Owls held the advantage in total shots (8-3). The Maroon and White earned two penalty corners to Temple's one.

Emma Garvey made one save, while her Owl counterpart, Molly Frey, made two.
Next up, the Leopards face No. 3 Boston in the 2023 Patriot League Field Hockey Championship semifinal round at 2 p.m. on Thursday.
