GENEVA, N.Y- Alex Darrah and Aimee Hoefnagel of the Lafayette field hockey team have been named Scholars of Distinction by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA). The honor is awarded to players who have a cumulative grade point average of 3.90 or better through the first semester of the 2022-23 academic year.
 
Darrah topped the list in back-to-back years while majoring in Economics and Computer Science. Darrah saw action in seven games of her second season with the Maroon and White. Hoefnagel, a freshman from Rotterdam, Netherlands, is majoring in the Liberal Arts and had minutes in six games last fall.
