LEWISBURG, Pa. - The Leopards' swimming and diving team continued competition on day three of the Patriot League Championships at Bucknell University on Friday evening.
In the preliminary events, sophomore Sophia Toomey earned a 25th-place finish in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 57.82, finishing ahead of teammate junior Anya Pelshaw (30th in 58.27). In the 200-yard freestyle, senior Sydney Perks took home 32nd place with a time of 1:55.93. Junior Maya Byrne managed a 38th-place finish (1:57.04).
In the 100-yard breaststroke, freshman Isabella Van Ess finished in 15th place, clocking a time of 1:05.23. Sophomore Maggie Ivie took home 13th place in the 100-yard backstroke (57.77).
For the men's preliminary events, sophomore Avery Letourneau finished 22nd in the 100-yard butterfly (49.98). Freshman Sean McManus took home 26th (50.66) and classmate Daniel Hayes managed a 27th-place finish (50.70).
Sophomore Andrew Campbell finished in 11th place in the 400-yard individual medley with a time of 3:57.26. Campbell broke his previous Lafayette school record from last year with his performance. Senior Aaron Tupper finished 14th in the 100-yard backstroke (49.57) and sophomore Peter Kawash earned a 15th-place finish (49.76).
In the 200-yard freestyle relay, Kawash, freshman Tommy Weber, classmate Antonio Arena and Tupper broke a Lafayette school record from last season with a time of 1:22.35. The foursome managed a seventh-place finish.
In the diving, freshman Peter Curtis took home 14th place in the one-meter event (237.10) wjhile classmate Aidan Boudreaux placed 15th (215.00).
The Maroon and White will close out competition in the Patriot League Championships on Saturday evening.
