Campbell Named to Academic All-Patriot League Team

Senior recognized for academic and athletic excellence

EASTON, Pa. – Senior Kurtis Campbell from the swimming and diving team has earned Academic All-Patriot League honors.

Campbell is a biology major with a 3.93 GPA and has had multiple academic achievements during his time as a Leopard. He was the 2024 Lafayette College Athletic Department Maroon Club Scholar-Athlete for men's athletics and received the Lafayette College Swimming Academic Achievement Award twice. The Annapolis, Md. native made the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll three times and the dean's list each semester. Campbell also qualified for the Lafayette Athletics Honor Roll seven-of-seven semesters and was a seven-time CSCAA Team Scholar All-American.

The senior broke four school records at the Patriot League Championships. Campbell became the first Leopard since 2020 to break the 1:40 time barrier in the 200-yard free with a time of 1:38.77, as the lead in the 800-yard free relay. He surpassed the school records in the 400-yard IM (3:52.46), 200-yard fly (1:48.48) and 500-yard free (4:26.08), placing ninth, 11th and 12th, respectively.

Campbell was a Warren County ARC Special Olympian swimming coach at Lafayette as well as an Easton Boys and Girls Club volunteer. The Severn School graduate was also a member of the Pards Against Sexual Assault (PASA) planning committee member.

In order to qualify for a nomination, a student-athlete must have completed at least one year at their institution and have a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher.
