Josh Rivera earned recognition from the Patriot League on Monday, as the men's basketball post-season honors were announced.
Fulton was named to the All-Patriot League Third Team after averaging 10.4 points, 5.1 rebounds and 5.1 assists per game. His 2.8 assist/turnover ratio tops the league and ranks 25
th nationally.
Fulton was named the conference player of the week on Dec. 26 after scoring a career-high 20 points in the Leopards' 90-65 victory over La Salle. He shot 7-of-9 from the floor and 6-of-8 from 3-point range, while adding six assists and grabbing five rebounds in the decisive afternoon.
The Belfast, Ireland native had 15 double-figure scoring performances, totaling 303 points while averaging a conference-best 36.5 minutes per game. He started every game in the 2022-23 season for the Maroon and White until Feb. 22, when he was sidelined due to injury.
Lafayette has had at least one player on the Patriot League All-Rookie squad since 2019, with Fulton taking All-Rookie honors following the 2021-22 season.
Rivera continued that streak and earned All-Rookie Team status after totaling 291 points and two double-doubles while starting 19 games in his freshman campaign. He ended the regular season averaging 10 points, 5.1 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game.
Rivera had 13 double-digit scoring performances, five of which were above the 20-point mark. He scored a career-high 27 points against American on Jan. 18, shooting 12-for-13 from the floor and 100 percent beyond the arc. Â
The New Brunswick, N.J. native was named the conference rookie of the week on Jan. 30 after knocking down 25 points and his first collegiate double-double to battle the conference leader, Colgate, to the final minutes. He grabbed 10 rebounds and was 10-of-19 from the floor, including a pair of three-pointers and a pair of blocks.
The Leopards open up the postseason Thursday night, traveling to rival Lehigh in the quarterfinal round of the Patriot League Tournament at 7 p.m. at Stabler Arena.
