SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. – The Lafayette baseball team dropped its final non-conference contest of the season 9-2 to Seton Hall on Wednesday at Sheppard Stadium.
Lafayette jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the second when junior
Justin Grech lined a two-run single through the right side that scored junior

Ben Petrone, who had reached base on a hit-by-pitch and a walk, respectively.
Seton Hall responded with a solo home run in the bottom of the second by Staus Pokrofsky, and then tied the game on another solo home run in the fifth, this time by Oscar Murray.
The Pirates took the lead in the seventh, scoring on an RBI-single to left field by Jonathan Luders, making the score 3-2.
Seton Hall added on six more runs in the eighth, extending its lead to 9-2.
Richie Cimpric was credited with the win for the Pirates, pitching 2.0 innings, giving up three hits, recording a strikeout and not allowing a run. Sophomore
Jacob Maurer took the loss for the Leopards, pitching 2.1 innings, giving up two hits, a run and striking out two.
Lafayette is next in action on Friday when it travels to West Point, N.Y. to face Army for a three-game series that starts at 6 p.m.
