EASTON, Pa.- The 2023 Maroon Club Golf Outing, presented by Lehigh Valley Health Network, was held on June 26 at the Northampton Country Club in Easton, Pa. with a 10 a.m. shotgun start.

The event is the Maroon Club's biggest fundraiser of the year with proceeds designated to the benefit of all 23 Lafayette athletic teams. Due to severe weather, this year's outing was cut short and final scores were measured best to par through 11 holes.

The team of Mike Joseph '88, Phil Ng '89 and Michael Heaney '86 earned redemption after a second-place finish in 2022, claiming the 2023 crown with a score of 10-under par. Second place went to Gerald Dandeneau '70, Jim Hutnick '78, Kyle Hutnick and Chad Hess at 9-under.

Men's basketball head coach, Mike McGarvey, was the winner of the men's long drive, while Kim Spang, Lafayette's Vice President of Development and College Relations, brought it home for the women. Ari Lemisch, an incoming first-year student on College Hill, was awarded closest to the pin.

With Lehigh Valley Health Network leading the charge, 18 local businesses sponsored Monday's event. A number of auction prizes were generously donated, including a bat signed by Philadelphia Philly, Brandon Marsh, and an autographed football from Seattle Seahawks head coach, Pete Carroll. The first-place team was awarded engraved crystal putters designed by Crystal Signatures, a silver sponsor of this year's outing.
