Lafayette Athletics Draws Acclaim in 2026 NCAA APR Release

10 teams secured perfect multi-year APR scores

EASTON, Pa. - Lafayette athletics continued to excel as an exceptional leader in the 2026 NCAA Academic Progress Rate collection. Nineteen of Lafayette's athletic programs measured in the NCAA's latest multi-year Academic Progress Rates (APR) matched or beat the national all-sport average (986), which had risen by two points from last year.

Lafayette's overall APR score was 996 with 10 Leopard programs achieving perfect scores of 1000.

For Maroon and White women's teams, basketball (990), field hockey (996), softball (995), cross country (1000), lacrosse (1000), soccer (997), swimming and diving (1000), tennis (1000), track and field (1000) and volleyball (1000) all posted impressive scores. For the Leopard men's teams, baseball (1000), basketball (984), cross country (1000), football (989), golf (1000), lacrosse (997), soccer (996), swimming and diving (997), tennis (989) and track and field (1000) all recorded multi-year APR scores well ahead of the NCAA's benchmark.

Six women's teams and four men's teams posted perfect scores. Those most recent multi-year APR scores are based on the scores from 2021-22 through 2024-25 and were released on May 5.

Each academic year, every Division I sports team's APR is calculated using a simple and consistent formula. Scholarship student-athletes can earn one point for staying on course for a degree in their chosen major and one point for being retained (or graduating) at the end of each academic term. A team's total points are divided by points possible and then multiplied by 1,000. For schools that do not offer athletics scholarships, recruited student-athletes are tracked. This is the fifth consecutive year of publicly reported APRs after a one-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

A full list of APRs for each team, as well as those penalized, can be accessed by using the APR searchable database.
