EASTON, Pa.– The Lafayette field hockey team scored twice in the first period to defeat Bucknell 2-1 in the Patriot League opener on Friday evening at Rappolt Field.

Alex Darrah opened scoring for the night, swatting a lifted ball from classmate
Lineke Spaans into the cage at 8:28.
India Ralph scored the eventual game-winner at 10:46, assisted by freshman
Katie Gibb during a penalty corner.
Bucknell's lone tally was recorded by Kira Leclercq at 38:44 in the third quarter.
Lafayette held the advantage in total shots (14-10) and penalty corners (8-7).

Raffi Fragomeni made five crucial saves in the victory. Her Bison counterpart, Sarah Althouse, made six.
The Leopards host Fairfield in a non-conference break on Sunday.
