EASTON, Pa.– Freshman 
Stella Malinowski scored her first collegiate hat trick to earn a 3-2 victory against Fairfield on Sunday afternoon.
The Stags got on the board first at 5:54, prior to Malinowski's first deflection goal at 25:00 for a 1-1 tie at halftime.
Both teams converted lifted shots in the third period for another tie with 15 minutes remaining to play.
Assisted by classmate 
Katie Gibb, Malinowski swept the game-winner into the cage with 57:07 on the clock. Her six points this afternoon are a game and career high during her rookie campaign.
Lafayette held the advantage in total shots (14-10) and penalty corners (9-6).
Lafayette's sophomore goalkeeper 
Raffi Fragomeni made five saves in the contest, including a crucial penalty stroke save in the fourth quarter to keep the advantage. Her Stag counterpart, Payton Rahn, made five saves as well.
The Leopards return to Patriot League play and travel to American on Sept. 23.
