PLANTATION, Fla. – The women's swimming and diving teams competed against Sacred Heart in ten relays on Saturday morning, winning eight out of 10 events in meet which is part of the winter training trip.
The Leopards had a lot of success during the relays. Juniors Meghan Inglis and Maggie Ivie and freshman Diedre Scudder won the 3x100 backstroke with a final time of 3:06.73. Teaming up with freshman Natalie Johnson, Inglis, Ivie, and Scudder worked together for a win in the 4x50 backstroke (1:55.88).
In the 4x50 breaststroke, the team of freshmen Abigail Cook and Caroline Schenck, senior Anya Pelshaw and sophomore Isabella Van Ess snagged a win with a final time of 2:15.83. Schenck and Van Ess and sophomore Ella DeSalvo worked together for a win in the 3x100 breaststroke (3:35.72). Ivie, junior Shaniya Newton, senior Kristen O'Connor and Schenck finished with a 1:45.13 in the 200 freestyle, and Newton and seniors Maya Byrne and Kaley Snarr swam a 2:54.47 in the 3x100 freestyle, both relay victories.
Junior Sophia Toomey, freshman Abigail Bebel and Van Ess won the 3x100 IM in a final time of 3:16.08 as did sophomores Lorelei Folger and Emma Luttrell, Johnson, and Toomey in the 4x50 butterfly (1:54.36).
The Leopards will return to College Hill for their senior meet vs. Rider University on Jan. 13 at 1 p.m.
