Stella Malinowski's team-high two goals and one assist propelled Lafayette over Lehigh, 5-0, on Friday evening at Rappolt Field.
The Leopards kicked off the 58
th iteration of the Rivalry matchup with a pair of first-quarter goals by Malinowski (6:04, penalty stroke) and
Lineke Spaans (14:26).
Sophomore forward
Lea Good knocked in the third tally at 16:07 during a perfectly executed penalty corner.
Josephine van Wijk was credited with Good's assist following the crisp passing sequence alongside
Lena Thedrian.
Malinowski earned an assist of her own at 31:36, aiding
Alex Darrah on a cross-pass that was slapped into the far left corner. The sophomore forward netted her second of the day just six minutes later, assisted by
India Ralph, to seal the 5-0 final.
The Maroon and White held the advantage in total shots (18-3) and both teams earned five penalty corners.
Lafayette's junior goalkeeper
Raffi Fragomeni stood tall in the cage to complete her fifth shutout of the season and add two saves to her total (44). Her Mountain Hawks' counterparts, Jenny Canoni and Kate Burgess, made two and four, respectively.
The Leopards host UMass on Sunday at 1 p.m., honoring the Morgan's Message organization.
