EASTON, Pa. – Lafayette volleyball hosted the Army Black Knights on Friday night at Kirby Sports Center, resulting in a 3-0 victory (25-19, 25-15, 25-12) for the visitors.
Friday's contest served as Lafayette volleyball's Professor Appreciation Game. Prior to the first serve, Lafayette players escorted 10 professors out during introductions to showcase their support. Thank you to all of our professors for attending Friday's game and for their continued support of Lafayette Athletics and our student athletes.

Mackenzie Calhoun. Lafayette then posted a small 4-2 run, tying the match at nine apiece. The Black Knights led 13-11, but a 5-2 scoring spurt gave the visitors breathing room. Army took the first set 25-19.

Destiny McKenzie tied the contest at 4-4. The Fairburn, Ga. native tallied a career high of 10 kills Friday evening, while adding eight digs. Army held a one-point advantage (8-7) prior to a seven-point run, taking a 15-7 lead. Mackenzie Lynch (4) and Chloe Murakami (4) combined for eight kills in the second period, guiding Army to a 2-0 lead (25-15).
The Black Knights kept rolling in the final set, compiling 10 more kills (15-5) than Lafayette. Lynch (11) and Murakami (10) were Army's standout offensive performers, finishing with 21 combined kills. At the final horn, Army advanced to 8-8 on the year.
Lafayette returns to Kirby Sports Center on Saturday for a 6 p.m. matchup with Navy.
