Stone Surpasses 100 Career Victories Against Boston U.

Field Hockey haunts the Terriers with an offensive evening

EASTON, Pa. - Five different goal scorers propelled Lafayette to a 5-0 shutout victory versus Boston on Friday night at Rappolt Field.

The Maroon and White improve to a 10-6 (4-1 PL) overall record in 2024 to gift head coach Jennifer Stone her 100th career win at the helm.

Junior midfielder Josephine van Wijk recorded the first goal of game in the second quarter (22:55) with a penalty corner shot.

In the following period, co-captain Lineke Spaans stole the ball from a Terrier defender to easily maneuver her way around the opposing goalkeeper and score, 2-0 at 37:32.

The fourth quarter saw an offensive flurry from the Leopards, who took 10 shots in that time alone. With a perfectly executed inserter tip, senior India Ralph added to the advantage for a 3-0 lead at 47:12.

As Mackenzie Hall traveled to the low baseline and made a reverse shot high on cage, Alex Darrah stood waiting to knock it down. The senior forward earned her seventh goal of the season and second career overhead goal on Rappolt.

Sophomore Stella Malinowski closed out the 5-0 final at the 51-minute mark.

The Leopards held the advantage in total shots (22-6) and penalty corners (8-5).

Lafayette's junior goalkeeper Raffi Fragomeni made five saves in the shutout. Her Terrier counterpart, Kate Thomason, made 12.

The Leopards travel to Towson on Sunday for a 1 p.m. contest.
