TOWSON, Md. - Lafayette secured its second shutout victory of the weekend against Towson, 4-0, on Sunday afternoon to improve to 11-6 (4-1 PL).
Senior co-captain
Lineke Spaans opened up scoring just under two minutes into the contest, assisted by
Mackenzie Hall, for the initial lead. The Bussum, Netherlands native tallied her second goal of the game at 17:26 with a shot from the top of the circle to further the advantage to 2-0.
Laila Pasic, a freshman midfielder, earned her first career goal at 22:26 to keep Lafayette out of reach before halftime.
To close out the afternoon's 4-0 final,
Maddie Evans netted a deflection off of
Alex Darrah's cross at 47:56.
The Maroon and White held a strong advantage in total shots (17-3) and penalty corners (11-2).
Lafayette's junior goalkeeper
Raffi Fragomeni made two saves, while her Tiger counterpart, Tessa Scheenstra, made four. Fragomeni totals seven shutouts so far this season.
The Leopards close out the regular season on Nov. 2, traveling to Colgate at noon.
